To define human beings we’d have to say that they are complex hierarchical systems consisting of a number of hierarchical levels of anatomical organization such as molecules, sub-cellular entities, cells, tissues, organs, apparatuses, and organism that interrelate differently with each other to form networks of growing complexity. The human body in general was built in very delicate way and it is extremely resilient but most of the times that body has its own limits, in here we gathered some of the most rarest and weirdest causes of death you will ever see.

1. Death by a cockroach.

Well to be honest no one actually like cockroaches, they rent free your house at night and do what they like. While cockroaches are some of the most disliked insects in the insects world, of course, they bite sometimes and leave bacteria on your food, nonetheless, not many people throughout history have died directly because of it. One of the very few cases of death caused by a cockroach dates back to 2012 as media reported that day, a man named Edward Archbold, after attending an event at Deerfield beach Florida, he entered a food eating competition in which they have a time limit to stall down as many cockroaches as they could. Unfortunately he chocked to death after shoving too many cockroaches down his throat.

2. Stone man syndrome.

You can never imagine turning to stone, how frightening that would be, this something you will see only in movies. In actuality, there’s a very rare sickness that turns your body gradually hardens making movement very hard and in time making life impossible. This disease happens in very rare occasions, it is called ‘fibrodysplasia ossificans progressive’, in a much more simpler term ‘ stone man syndrome’. This sickness happens due to faulty gene mutation in which the body doesn’t repair normally instead it heals by becoming a new stone like forma gradually the person who has loses their ability to move. There weren’t any type of treatment that could cure this disease.

~Images of Mr. Harry Eastlack with stone man syndrome, who began his symptoms at age 10 and died at age 40.

3. Can pooping kill ?

The answer to this question is a bug yes, but the odds For this happen you’d be one in a million. When we say this we don’t mean dying on the throne from a heart attack, but when pooping is the main reason behind the death it can happen after something called ‘defecation syncope’ which mean ‘pooping fainting’. It is so rare that the US national institute of health explained it in a paper they published saying that some people bear down to increase the pressure in the rectum, hence, we’ve all squeezed one out as the saying goes. In that same paper they said that the increase in the pressure of rectum calls for closure of the epiglottis tightening the diaphragm, tightening the muscles of the chest wall, and stimulation of the parasympathetic nervous system, this causes rapid drop in blood pressure and less blood flow getting to the brain, before you have time to think it lights out.

4. Laughing yourself to death.

I never thought in my wildest dreams that i would add laughing into a crazy list of the weirdest deaths. Nonetheless, if you can die pooping, you definitely can die laughing that’s for sure. Laughing yourself to death is extremely rare but there have been some cases going back to ancient times, laughing, especially when really hard can cause a brain malfunction, it might also lead to asphyxiation or suffocation, the problem here is that sometimes the person laughing might not find anything funny at all but will continue doing so due to a brain problem, worry not and don’t panic these kind of things happens one in a million. That one in a million case occurred in 1975, in England to a poor man named Alex Mitchell when he was watching a comedy sketch show called ‘the goodies’, he kept laughing for 25 minutes straight and then collapsed from his chair and died.

That would be it for today’s list, just keep in mind next time when watching your favorite comedy show not to laugh as much as poor Mitchell did.

Humans are some of the most complex beings that roams this planet.
